Cerrejon Ellipse 9
CERREJON is one of the biggest open pit Coal Mines in the world located in the North of Colombia. They are using Ellipse as their EAM and ERP system since 1990 with currently more than 1500 nominated and 200 concurrent users.
Back in 2014 CERREJON contracted Ventyx/Mincom to upgrade their Ellipse software from Ellipse 5.2.3.7 to Ellipse 8.4, at the same time CERREJON signed with SUMMA a contract with the limited scope to support all the technical and functional activities involved in a typical Ellipse upgrade project. As result of this and the quality of our services during this project CERREJON and SUMMA signed in 2015 a wider in scope contract to support CERREJON with their day-to-day Ellipse needs. This contract remains current after 8 years of a successful relation with our customer. Contract scope includes:
SCOPE
• Technical and Functional support to address daily operational issues both at core Ellipse and to those presented in customizations developed by third parties.
• Review, analyse, adjust and upgrade Ellipse from/to interfaces and integrations developed by third parties.
• Development of new Ellipse interfaces from/to external and legacy systems.
• Development of Ellipse connector and loader scripts
• Development of reports (Power BI, Business objects, Jasper)
• Development of Ellipse Customizations (via Groovy hooks and batch jobs) where needed (after making sure that core Ellipse cannot directly address the requirement) to address new business needs
• Ellipse Technical and Functional training to CERREJON users and technical staff
• Support CERREJON with mitigation actions and intermediate and temporary solutions while Hitachi addresses any Ellipse software issue that impacts the day-to-day operation
As result of the quality of our services and full customer satisfaction
• CERREJON have granted SUMMA exclusive and uninterrupted support contracts for the last 7 years.
• SUMMA have supported CERREJON in ALL Ellipse upgrades (4 upgrade projects) from versions 5.2.3.7 to Ellipse 9.0.34. We are currently upgrading them from 9.0.30 to 9.0.34
• CERREJON have reduced Ellipse TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), kept Ellipse as their EAM and ERP solution and changed their initial plans 7 years ago to migrate to SAP.
• There have been 0 complains and claims from CERREJON in relations to our services and deliverables.
• Even in the absence of a 24X7 contract, SUMMA gives CERREJON immediate support to any P1 incident that may raise
